Golden Gate Park Archery Range,
San Francisco, CA
From The Page (August, 2016):
Fair Gentles, please join the Shire of Cloondara for our annual event, Debardchery, a combination archery and bardic competition.
Please bring a dish to contribute to a potluck feast at midday based on your SCA name: A-J side dish or salad, K-R main dish, S-Z dessert.
- Match your skills against the Kingdom’s finest archers in the novelty shoot and IKAC!• Bid on your favorite archer for the chance to win a prize!
- Join the fun in the traditional crazy Cloondaran games: Loaf Lob, Caper Toss, Fish Fling, and the deadly Flying Phoenix of Fate!
- Compete to be this year’s Bard of Cloondara! Our theme is “Medieval Unpleasantness.” Entries can be in any form (poem, song, story, etc.) and should highlight the not so pleasant aspects of the Middle Ages such as plague, rats, and serfdom.
- And introducing a new largess competition: The Fabulous Five! Enter five items (either the same or a combination of related items) based on the theme “Protecting the Family Jewels.” Think treasure chests, pouches, pockets, codpieces and such. The winner gets one of each entry and the remaining four will be gifted as largess to the Royals.
