Their Highnesses call upon the populace of Oertha to join them for a weekend full of tournaments and Viking fun before the warm summer breezes give way to the harsh winter winds.
Prepare for a Heavy and Rapier prize tourney with “Oerthan rounds” (best 2 out of 3), an Archery competition to test your skill, A&S contest for items made using Viking or Norse techniques, a bardic competition of Viking songs or stories that bring glory to the Gods, and a cooking contest for savory potato dishes to be presented at feast and judged by Her Highness.
Lunch of Soup and Bread will be provided Saturday. Feast on Saturday will be a sponsored potluck, with Their Highnesses providing the meat. Please bring a dish by mundane last name: A-H Fruit or Dessert Dish, I-N Vegetable dish, O-S starch side, T-Z Bread and Cheese side.
Site information: France Equestrian Center (Alaska State Fair Grounds, (address omitted), Palmer, AK). Site is located in the Equestrian Arena behind the Agricultural barn. Yellow Gate off of Inner Springer Loop road.
Site opens 6pm Friday for setup and closes at 5 on Sunday.
Site fee: adults $10 (plus $5 for non-members), children 5-15 are $5, and under 5 are free. Family cap $30. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc.-Principality of Oertha.
