Manteca Senior Center,
From The Page (August, 2014):
It will not be long before we are fully into summer and time for Fettburg's Midsummer Feast. But don't forget, it's not just a feast. It's also a mini-collegium and time for our a Rapier Championship List as well.
This year's feasting theme returns us to the Mediterranean and a chance to dine of Arab cuisine. A four course format will allow you a chance to enjoy various recipes from across the Caliphates from Al-Andalusia, to Syria, to the Berber lands of North Africa. A complete menu will be posted very soon, but imagine Saffron Vegetable Soup, a saffron chicken b'stila, and cutlets of goat in a fine apricot sauce. Or, come join us and bypass the need to imagine.
Midsummer Feast will also be a time to enjoy some classes with four classes being offered prior to dining. Schedule of classes will be posted on (website address omitted) prior to event.
Finally, the Baron and Baroness of Fettburg call upon those who fight upon the rapier field to attend their Excellencies and earn the opportunity to be the Rapier Champion of Fettburg.
So, be sure to join us in what will be certain to be a full afternoon and evening of fun and camaraderie, ending with a satisfied stomach and good memories.
Bil-hanā' wa ash-shifā': May you have your meal with gladness and health
