The province of Southern Shores invites all Heavy and Rapier fi ghters, Archers & Artisans to its Midsummer Tourney and Demo at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.
SAT: Tourney Armor inspection starts at 11am- fi ghting to commence at 12 noon (SCA time).
It will be a mad dog style tourney where each entrant gets 2 lives. Once those lives are expended, the fi ghter may buy themselves back in with a cost based on their order of precedence. Viewers may also buy a fi ghter back in. The winner with the most victories gets to select a charity from a pre-determined list. A portion of all proceeds will be retained by Southern Shores for future events with the remainder going to the selected charity. Archers: we will have targets available. Artisans: we will have a covered area for your displays, works-in-progress, etc... NOTE: the Fair has opened its judging competitions to adults again, so please go to www.Thefair.org and select "Santa Clara County Fair" for more information if you should care to enter your artwork, weaving, pottery, etc... BBQ: SoShores will be hosting a non-period BBQ of Chicken and Hamburgers. Please feel free to bring something to share.
SUN: We will be hosting a fi ghter practice. All fi ghters and Artisans are welcome to join us on both or either day.

Event Hours: SAT; SCA folks can arrive for set-up at 9am, Fair opens to public at 10am, site closes at 9pm. SUN; 10am to 6pm.
Site Fee: FREE (for SCA only; regular visitors to the Fair have an entry fee so BE SURE to go in the right gate) and Parking pass provided. ALL SCA-folk in attendance of the Tourney & Demo will be provided with a parking pass available at gate C (This is the fi rst gate to the right of the arches at the main gate on Tully). When you enter, identify yourself as SCA & you are in. We have the large grass area right next to the parking lot.
