The Forty-Sixth Year

War Maneuvers / A&S Tournament -- Silver Desert

May 7, 2011 (AS XLVI)

Reno, NV

From The Page (May, 2011):

With the weather warming, we find ourselves once again in the midst of the Season of WAR! The Silver Desert invites all to the eastern slopes of the mountains of the Kingdom of the West to sharpen your war-time skills. The Silver Desert, with the autocrat-manship of Mahon and assistance of Wolfshead War Unit, is hosting a day filled with War Maneuvers to continue fine-honing your battlefield prowess. With both the Cynagua/Mists and West/Antir quickly approaching, we are offering a day on the field and encourage ALL War combatants to join in the fervor of the day.

Included, Vicountess Bronwen Lorelle will be teaching her technique for making her BEAUTIFUL and very famous Felted Wool Viking hats (yes the hat that sold for $1000 at Twelfth Night). But alas, there are only 7 spaces available for the class. There is a $30 materials fee for the class, but you will walk away with your own hat and the ability to make yet another... The first 7 to send her their fee will be registered for the class. Felted Wool Hat Reservations: make checks payable to: (contact info omitted).

There will be other classes offered and we will be having the wondrous A&S display tables for you to display your completed work and works in progress. Since this is an A&S Tournament, we will be awarding a prize to the person with the finest Art or Science piece (as voted by our fine panel of judges), finished or not, on the display tables. The Silver Desert will be hosting a hot lunch with beverage for all participants. Since this site is in one of our county parks and sports complexes, it is strictly a dry site. Site fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Site will open at 10am and armor inspection will open at 10:30 am. Site will close at 8pm when the park closes.

Autocrat: Mahon MacDiarmada (contact info omitted).
