Mar Val Stables,
From The Page (August, 2011):
Can't get enough of the pageantry, the spectacle, the show that was the horse in the Medieval times? Enjoy flashing swords, pounding hooves, flowing barding, the jingle of tack and the merriment of playing with horses in the SCA. Come join us for the day and enjoy an exceptional equestrian display at the West Kingdom Equestrium! We will have a full day with the competition to select the new West Kingdom Equestrian Champion, but if you don't have a horse, that's ok! We will have special a "Welcoming Crew" that will introduce you to horses in the SCA. This is the place to make those contacts to learn more about the opportunities available for our horseless friends! Come pat a pony and ask all those questions you've wanted to ask. The site is beautiful, with plenty of shade and great entertainment. All are welcome, bring your horses if you have them or come and learn more about the horse and its place in the SCA. Don't feel pressured by the idea of "competing," feel free to come and ride the different phases of the competition at your comfort level. More information on the competition will be available online soon.
Site Information: Mar Val Stables, (address omitted), Lodi CA 95242. Site opens at 9am and closes at 8pm. Competition starts at 11am sharp. Site fee is $10/members, $15/ nonmembers. Please make checks payable to "SCA, Inc.- Kingdom of the West."
