27th Annual Protectorate Tournament -- Borderwinds

The Canton of Borderwinds is 27 years old!! Come help us and our beautiful, gracious Lady of Love and Beauty- Viscountess Jimena (The Widow) Montoya, and our handsome, courageous Lord Protector, Sir Rhys of Ravenscroft, celebrate this wonderful day with TWO, yes TWO, tournies in one! As the locals vie for the right to honor their lady or lord by making them the newest Lady (or Lad) of Love and Beauty, there will be a bodacious Prize Tournament for everyone not participating in the Protectorate itself!! There also will be many of the traditional contests: Best Death (open to ALL!); Most Chivalrous; Best Fight; Most Courtly Gentleman; Best, or Most Amusing, Mourning; and Best Chocolate Dessert- NO COCONUT products, please...and several onsite contests yet to be determined. Also, the Bard of Tarnmist competition, theme TBD onsite. At the end of the tourney we will have a potluck- if you wish to participate, please bring a dish to serve 8 with this (non-SCA last name) breakdown: A-H side dish; I-P main dish; Q-Z dessert. The Canton will provide charcoal for those who wish to BBQ, and also provide bread for all.BYOD.

Site Information: Waller Park, *AREA 6*, in Santa Maria, CA.**NOT our usual spot.** Site opens at 10 am, lists open at 11 am and fighting starts at noon-ish...park closes at sundown. Site fee: Free! Limited crash space available, please call ahead.
