From The Page (August, 2009):
Feasting season is upon us and now is the time that we join in warm company to listen to poem and song as we bear witness to the competition for the next Bard of the Mists. The competition this time will consist of the same traditional five rounds: First: A period piece. Second: A piece in a period style. Third: Bard's Choice - This year, the challenge I put forth is "To Make a Toast". Use your creativity and your talents to craft a toast for any person(s) or group that you wish. Fourth: Your Masterwork - Please perform a piece that you have written that displays your talent at its best. Fifth: Draw three words out of a hat and compose a piece in fifteen minutes. Competitions begin at 2pm. If you have any questions regarding the competitions or wish to declare your intent to compete, please contact the Bard of the Mists.
