Sri Satchanalai Historical Park,
Sri Satchanalai, Sukhothai, Tailand
From The Page (March, 2010):
Venite, venite. One and All, to the ruins of Sri Satchanalai on the banks of the River of Death for the Incipient Canton of Golden Playne's first ever Collegivm Martialis, or "fighters' training camp" in the vulgar tongue, on the weekend of 19-21 March A.S. XLIV (c.e. 2010), graciously sponsored by the Palatine Barony of the Far West. Our revel and accommodations site, the Sri Satchanalai Hotel and Resort, will officially open at 6 pm on Friday, and we will have a pre-event revel for anyone who arrives at the site that evening.
The main events on Saturday will take place behind the ruins of Wat Khok Sing-kharam ('Horned Rama Highland Temple') in Sri Satchanalai Historical Park. This site will open at 9 am on Saturday, 20 March 2010. The opening ceremony will be held at 11 am Fighter training will commence at 12 pm., followed by authorizations of new fighters at 3 pm Then at 4:30 pm, the Incipient Canton will hold our first heavy-weapons champion tourney. At 6 pm, we will begin site clean up, and then the main event site will close at 6:30 pm so that we may return to the revel site for feasting and a bardic competition to name the Incip-ient Canton's first bardic champion.
The revel and accommodations site will close at 12 pm. on Sunday, 21 March 2010. At that point, all event participants are invited to join us in a day of mundane touring about the UNESCO World Heritage Sites at Sri Satchanalai and Sukhothai, before we begin our journey back to the bustle of Bangkok.
The best news of all is that there is no SCA site fee for this event; however, individu-als will be responsible for paying for their own accommodations, food, park entrance fees, and any additional expenses. Furthermore, this is the first time the Inicpient Canton has used either of these sites, and we are not sure how firm our reservations are; so, travellers who wish to attend this event are strongly advised to contact Magister Klement St. Christoph, the autocrat, at least one week before the event to find out whether the site has changed or not.
Autocrat: Baron Klement "Klee" St. Christoph, OL (contact info omitted).
