From The Page (June, 2006):
Summer is upon us, and now is the time for frolic! Come join us as we celebrate the joy of being warm outdoors! As there has been a request for an Asian flavored event, we invite you to wear Eastern style garb if you have it. Following that trend, a few of the entertainments planned are a Go! tournament and kite flying. We will be holding a kite making class for all ages, and will then attempt to fly our creations. Other kites are welcome. Other activities will be Winter's Gate Croquet, silly games, and a potluck dinner on Saturday night (please provide a list of ingredients). There are three competitions for this event; period game board and pieces in any mode, table-sized catapults that will be used for a castle siege during dinner (dry bread bits only please), and Eastern finger foods (this encompasses Middle Eastern as well as Oriental).
