"Cornitos" Pas & Feast -- Silver Desert

July 29, 2006 (AS XLI)

Emmanual First Baptist Church,
Sparks, NV

From The Page (June, 2006):

During the day, we will have passes at the barrier, Grande Melees, and honorable challenges to fill the day. Join the Gallery in cheering on the fighters and declaring challenges. After the tournament, there will be a feast in the style of 16th Century Spain to fill our bellies and pass the evening. Join us in feasting upon three courses of delicacies from Libre del Coch! We will have Empanadas, Armored Hen, and Pastries of Fine Sugar with Apple Pottage; along with many, many more delectable dishes! In between courses, join in the dancing, gaming, and revelry.

Site Information: Site opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm. Feast hall will open at 4 pm for setup, feast will begin service at 6 pm. Cost for the tourney and feast will be $18 for adults (if purchased by July 15), $12 for children ages 9-15, and free for children 8 and under. Site fee for the tourney alone is $5 for members, children 8 and under are free. Feast/Toumey fee if purchased after July 15 (and at the door if available) will be $20. The $3 non-member surcharge will be in effect, it will be collected at sign-in. West Kingdom Welcome Committee will be there, offering to pay the NMS. A lunch of soups and savory tarts will be included in the site fee for all. We ask that feast tickets be purchased in advance, so the cooks have a better idea of budget. Make checks payable to "SCA, Inc- Silver Desert." Tickets are available from the Head Cook.
