The Forty-First Year

Muster -- Mountain's Gate

October 14, 2006 (AS XL)

Granite Oaks,
Placerville, CA

From The Page (October, 2006):

Join us for a day of Fighting and Feasting. The day will begin with a meeting of all the fighters to vote on which scenarios they want to fight. Please email us with scenario ideas (email address omitted). You can rest under the oaks and partake of iced tea and lemonade; both included in the site fee. BBQ will follow in the evening. The Shire of Mountain's Gate will provide the meat.

Fighting: Very gentle slopes and meadows. A REAL 8' wide causeway with blackberries on one side and a hopefully dry pond on the other. A REAL barrier built of giant oak logs. This is a compact and efficient site with all battlefields within just yards of the central muster and relief area. This site is 60% shade with great woods.

This is a park like setting and we should have the Bowls court set up. Court style archery with beverages and snacks on the range. Bring your archery gear or borrow ours. Ladies archery is very encouraged in Court style. Period gaming ideas are encouraged. Relax under an oak and read! We will provide a camp/crash area for those who need to stay due to drink or distance. Please email or call us with how many in your party so we may be the best hosts possible. Visit the Shire website at (website address omitted) Let us know too if you are bringing a dish or snack.

Site Information: Our event will be held at "Granite Oaks." Site fee is $8 for members, $11 for non-members, $4 for children under 16. Site opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm.

Autocrat: Geoffrey of Clan Fergus (contact info omitted).
