From The Page (January, 2007):
This is the time of year to spend in good cheer when neighbors, friends and family gather to meet. We are thinking warm and sunny thoughts with offerings of desserts, dance and diversions to chase the cold winter away.
Competitions: Desserts: There will be two competitions this year. The first is Father Time Challenge- this is for the serious and wizened contestants whose dessert recipes (of any sort ) can be found in period cookbooks, manuscripts, etc. This requires documentation in the style of typical A&S competitions. The Second is Baby New Year Dessert Challenge - Let's face it babies are silly and don't know all the facts. Bring any kind of dessert you enjoy making and/or eating. Documentation should tell where your dessert came from, why it should be on an SCA board and any other * details' you care to include (of course, coming 'straight from a baby's mouth' we don't expect it to be entirely truthful). Dance: Best dancing couple. Diversions: There is also Quick the Bard (combat musical chairs) for adults and kids. Stomp the Duck (kids of all ages) and Miller in the Middle. Also "The Sun also Rises" the best display of sun(s) in any mode. And any other surprises that may pop into the autocrat's head.
Site Information: IBEW Hall at (address omitted), Anchorage, Alaska. Site will open at 4 pm and close at 9 pm Site fee is $5 for members, $8 for non-members, $1.50 for children under 12, under 3 are Free.
Autocrat: Elspeth Bouchannane (contact info omitted).
