Join our honorable fighters as they entertain the Ladies of the Gallery with a Grand Melee in the old style by fighting in teams of three with three counted blows apiece. This will be a high persona event where fighters are expected to both dress their best and go out of their way to impress the Lady's Gallery. We're here to fight until we can fight no more. There will be fighting, followed by dancing! Fighters, the point of the day is to impress the Ladies Gallery. This can be done with gifts, deeds of arms, acts of chivalry, demonstrations of largess and displays of the bardic arts to entertain the gallery. Fighters are also requested to bring a $10-$20 prize so that the Ladies Gallery can present awards fighters during the feast. The Press will be on hand for the event, so please dress your best, be prepared to answer questions about the SCA. Ladies of the Gallery, dress for cold weather. Please BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket).
Site Information: For those that are arriving from remote locations, RSVP the autocrat in advance, and plan on arriving on the 10th of February so you can be put up in the Camp Zama Lodge ($30 for one, $5 for each additional person in the room). This invitation goes out to our most noble local guests as well. Crash space will also be available. The free bus to Camp Zama from Narita Airport is a three hour commute, and leaves Narita for Camp Zama at 3 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7pm and Camp Zama to Narita at 9 am. Ham and 1pm. Arrange your flight around those times, please. Local tours are available on the 11th and 12th upon request as time allows. The event starts at 10 am and end at 9 pm. There is a $5 site fee and a $5 feast fee. Make checks payable to "SCA, Inc- Vale de Draco". The feast is Balked Lamb Shanks and Split Pea Soup with sides of vegetables, bread, and fruit. There is some loaner feast gear available.
