Emanuel First Baptist Church,
From The Page (November, 2005):
Tired of going to events and not being able to DANCE? Come and join us in celebrating the Season with a Masked Ball! Dance the night away and flirt to your hearts' desire. Many scrumptious finger foods and desserts will be on our side-board, and we invite you to help fill it out with potluck dishes. Don't know what to make? Contact meistara Vigdis (email address omitted) for an easy period recipe! The Province will provide ice to keep cold items and there will be electrical outlets available to plug crock-pots or the like into to keep warm items warm. The Province will also be providing bread, water, juice, coffee, and tea.
There will be a workshop from 9 am to noon, so you can make or finish your mask. Basic supplies will be available for you to use; but if you want anything special or specific, please bring it to use in the making of your mask. Dance instruction will begin at around 1 pm. This is your chance to learn some new dances and polish the ones you know. Starting at around 4 pm, we will lay out the sideboard and the Ball will begin. Bring your masks! We will be dancing the dances taught during the afternoon and whatever others strike our fancy.
