The History of the Kingdom of The West
The Thirty-ninth Year

Twelfth Night Coronation
January 8, 2005 (AS XXXIX)

"12th Night this year was held in Sacramento, at a Holiday Inn. There was lots of court, as usual, but no truly memorable moments (although I am quite sure that those made peers would argue -- for them and all other award recipients, those moments would of course be memorable, but I am speaking of anything truly interesting and/or exciting to the populace) except for the presentations by Catherine de Grey, Bard of the West. Alden and Constantina were crowned in a nice Coronation ceremony, and all went smoothly. This is their second reign together, and based on their first, I am sure it will be a good reign.

In the Coronation ceremony, some members of the order of Chivalry added about 20 minutes to the length of court by doing some very sentimental stuff with an ancient chain of fealty first worn by William of Hoghton, and given to Radnor of Guildemar (who never wore it as a Knight, but gave it out as King ...).

The Golden Stag Players put on a play (The Jealous Baker) that was well attended, and much laughter was had by all.

All in all, a pretty good day, and a good beginning to a new reign ..." -- Hirsch von Henford
