North Pole City Park,
North Pole, AK
From The Page (June, 2004):
Hark! The call of a hunting horn echoes over the forests of Beast Valley: the hunt is on! All who seek adventure are welcome. One worthy fighter will be chosen to be the Huntsman (or Huntswoman!) for the next year, charged with providing for the populace, summoning the fighters in times of necessity, and sounding the great hunting horn Hearkener!
There will be a children's hunt after the adult's hunt, we'd love volunteers to help. An archery tournament will be held for children ages 10 and under.
Site Information: The site opens at 9:30 am and the hunt will begin promptly at 10:30. The event will end at 3 pm. Location is North Pole City Park. Lunch will be a potluck. Site fee is $3 for members, $6 for non-members, and free for children. For more details on this event, please see our website at (website address omitted).
Autocrat: Patrick Willoughby (contact info omitted).
Historian note: North Pole, Alaska, or Beast Valley (no longer an active group of the SCA) was part of Winter's Gate, so there must have been some confusion with calendar deputies and such ... this event is hundreds of miles from Selviergard. (Also note the event on June 25-27 listed in the same issue of The Page, for Selviergard, also a Hunt). (HvH, who lived there for many years)
Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
