The Thirty-ninth Year

SCUM Wars 2: Taking a Walk with Aelf / Harvest Tournament -- Caer Darth / Southern Shores

October 1-3, 2004 (AS XXXIX)

Ford Ord Travel Camp,
Monterey, CA

From The Page (September, 2004):

The fighters of Caer Darth are rebelling. Who will emerge victorious? Who will take the final 'Walk with Aelf' and gain the key to the Golden Privy? After many years, Aelf of King's Crossing is retiring from combat. Caer Darth, St. David, and Southern Shores are collaborating to give h im an appropriate send-off, his very own war! Aelf has asked that we make this a charity event, so all event profit will be donated to Cancer Kids (website address omitted). The multi-scenario war will be fought Saturday and there will be refreshments available all day. There will be a rapier competition and a target archery range. If you are not fighting, enter our A&S competition, the theme is 'Period Toiletries'. Southern Shores will hold a fundraiser-involving chocolate!!! After the pot luck feast there will be a Middle Eastern Casbah, dancers & drummers are encouraged to attend! Sunday is the Harvest Tourney, in a Pas d'Armes style. Defenders will hold stations against challengers that will have different situations. Scenarios will include barrier, bridge, cliff, single sword, great weapons, etc. The gallery will judge fighters in several categories, and will award prizes (donated by Southern Shores). At 1 pm, Caer Darth will be hosting a potluck. The theme is 'Period Fast Food for Tourney Fighters". Be creative, period, and amusing. Other activities will include: games, the Neep-carving contest, possibly A&S classes, and the Southern Shores "silent raffle". Visit (website address omitted) regularly for more details
