The Thirty-ninth Year

Newcomer's Tournament -- Southern Shores

March 19, 2005 (AS XXXIX)

Kirk Park,
San Jose, CA

From The Page (February, 2005):

You are cordially invited to one of the first events of the fighting season. We encourage all groups to bring anyone new or returning to the SCA. The tourney is divided into three sections: those who have been fighting less than 1 year, less than two years, and a Prize Tourney open to all fighters. We are also having our Used Armor Garage Sale. We invite those with cast-off/well-loved armor to bring it to sell or donate at our garage sale. Not into fighting, or have a newcomer who has other interests in the SCA? Well not to worry, we are including a Newcomers A&S class track. These will be classes on a variety of topics for newcomers, and anyone who is interested in learning a new craft or addiction. Other activities include a raffle, games, and A&S displays and more added as the event approaches. See www.southern-shores.org for updates and tlie class schedule.

Site Information: Kirk Park, (address omitted), San Jose (behind the Community Center). Site hours are 10 am to 5 pm. No site fee, but donations will be gladly accepted.

Autocrat: Francisco Acero (contact info omitted).
