Archery Tournament -- Darkwood

August 20-22, 2004 (AS XXXIX)

Ford Ord Travel Camp,
Monterey, CA

From The Page (August, 2004):

Not going to Pennsic? Still want to go a camping event? We will be returning to the Fort Ord Travel Camp, with its rolling hills and trees for shade camping. Archers from all comers of the Known World are invited to demonstrate their prowess at target archery in the tournament. Qualifying archers will also shoot to determine the Baronial Archer Champion and the next member to join the Baronial Company of Archers. Please note that Crossbows are welcome at this site. Other planned Archery activities: Wand Shoots, York Round, Clout Shoot, IKAC and Royal Round. We ask the current members of the Baronial Company of Archers to assist in set up and running the Rounds.

Please bring your lunch and join Baroness Leisel at the Darkwood Sunshade for lunch. There will also be an "Ask a Peer" round table. Please be sure to bring sufficient water with you to the event, as there is NOT potable water on site.

Merchants: The standard charge of $1 per frontage space will be charged. It is requested that merchants pre register their intention to attend, and please provide square footage needed, so we can ensure adequate room for all. Please contact tiie autocrat.

Site Information: Site fee is $5 for members, $8 for non-members, and children under 12 are free. Site opens at Noon on Friday and closes at 4 pm on Sunday. This is a Federal Reservation (and because it is a common courtesy) ALL pets must be leashed to something or someone. Also there cannot be ANY FIREARMS ON SITE.

Autocrat: Sveinn Ulfsson (contact info omitted).
