From The Page (December, 2003):
It is time once again to celebrate the Yule Season, so why not join the festivities in the Silver Desert? We are planning a sumptuous served feast, a Toys for Tots collection, our traditional duct tape contest with a new twist this year and a dessert contest. We are also going to have a Masque so that you may show off your artistry and imagination. And we will have room for dancing, so bring your favorite dance steps with you. Also, any 'period' style board games would be a welcome distraction for those who do not dance.
Duct Tape Contest - SCA armature done in colored duct tape. Do your device or badge in duct tape on a banner for display.
Dessert Contest - Best use of sugared or preserved fruits and / or flowers.
Masks - use your imagination, but keep it period. Paint, feathers, applique and be prepared to model them before the feast while dancing or flirting.
Site opens at 2 pm, and the feast will start at 5 pm. There will be three courses: Turkey with Twice-Baked Potatoes and Greek Salad; Grilled Maple-Glazed Salmon with Fruit Salad and Acorn Squash Crescents; and Prime Rib with Eggplant Pierogy Casserole and Pasta Packets.
Member tickets are $15 for those over 12, $7 for children 6 to 11, and children under 5 will be free. Non-member adults, tickets are $18. Everyone can get $1 back on your ticket for bringing an unwrapped gift for the Toys for Tots collection.
Autocrat: Rhiannon of 7 Oaks (contact info omitted).
