From The Page (April, 2004):
Join us as we observe 'The viewing of the cherry blossoms' with tourneys, and good friends. There will be the usual cherry blossom activities - origami folding, garb contests, etc. The annual Japanese weapons Tourney for heavy fighters and The Second phase of the Tree of Wisdom Rapier Tourney. Also to my delight we will be having a Japanese Tea Ceremony preformed by Yukiko from Golden Rivers (Central West). As in previous years, there is NO FEAST, but period meat dishes will be provided in the early evening. Please bring something to go along with main course.
This is a discreetly wet site. And as this is the Laborer's Hall, there are tables but not many, so bring your own or spread your blanket picnic style. Appropriate garb is encouraged but NOT absolutely necessary. All visitors from far away lands will be welcome.
Contests include: Japanese weapons tourney for Heavies; Tree of Wisdom Rapier Tourney; Best Oriental Garb, male and female; Best death, both Rapier and Heavy; Haiku - funniest, subject children -voted on by children; Autocrats whim contest
Site Infonnation: Site opens 12:30 pm and closes before 10 pm. Site fee is $5 for members, $8 for non-members, $2.50 children 12 to 4, and children 3 and under are free. Our event site is the Labors Hall at (address omitted), Anchorage, AK.
