Penitencia Creek Park,
San Jose, CA
From The Page (January, 2002):
Warriors of the West Kingdom, gather for a full and exciting day of camaraderie and combat! The war season will soon be upon us - the time has come to hone our skills of war!
Current plans are to have teaching tracks in the first part of the day, with unit/group competitions at various scenarios for the second half of the day, possibly combining units together to practice larger mixed tactics.
The site will be Penitencia Creek Park in San Jose (the old Wargy site - adjacent to the Berryessa Community Center). Existing war units are encouraged to show up in force, banners flying high and proud! Individual warriors will also have plenty of opportunity to learn to fight in units and experience I'esprit de corps. Site opens at 9 AM for setup - volunteers for setup, water bearing and marshalling are needed and appreciated - please contact the autocrat if you can help out! The Shire of Ecorngill will be providing lunch (included in the $5 site fee) and a hospitality pavilion for non-fighters to work on arts or play period games. Site closes at dusk.
Autocrat: Brian of Glastonbury (contact info omitted).
