Baroness' Masked Ball -- Darkwood

December 14, 2002 (AS XXXVII)

Machado Schoolhouse,
Morgan Hill, CA

From The Page (November, 2002):

Dancing! Music! Games! Parade of Masques! Fabulous prizes! It is time to bid farewell to our beloved Baron and Baroness. As their Heirs prepare for stepping up at Twelfth Night, we will be celebrating our final event with them, honoring our beloved Baroness Elizabeth of the Blue Rose. In place of the annual rained-out heavy weapons tournament, we will be holding a Tournament of Games! Come play games and gain points for each game you play and each game you win. Prizes will be awarded during Court. We will also be holding an informal Solar during the day. In the evening we will hold a Parade of Masques and a Black-and-White Ball. Competitions: In addition to the traditional Parade of Masques/Mask Competition; there will also be a period cooking competition, documentation encouraged but NOT required. The competition will begin about half an hour before the potluck. Potluck: The potluck will begin at 5 PM. The Darkwood Cookerie Guild will provide a meat course. Please bring a dish of at least 8 servings, according to their mundane birth date: January-April, please bring a main dish; May-August, a side dish; and September-December, a dessert *or* a bread accompanied with cheeses or spreads. There are no kitchen facilities at Machado; but plenty of outlets for crock pots.

Site information: The site is the historic Machado Schoolhouse, (address omitted), Morgan Hill. Site opens at 10 AM and will close at 10 PM. Site fee is $5; 6 and under free.

Autocrat: Caitlin O'Byrne (contact info omitted).
