First Presbyterian Church of Arcata,
From The Page (October, 2002):
We would like to welcome you all to help us celebrate chivalric ghastliness in our masqued ball. We shall be putting on our finest garb and masks that range from the unsettling to the festive to partake in light fare and courtly dancing. This is the time of year where many restless spirits are known to roam abroad, but we ask that you imbibe your spirits discreetly, out of respect for our host. The event begins at 7 PM and lasts until 10 PM, with the reasonable chance of a post-revel afterwards. Our ball is not to be thought of as only a performance-art there will be a gourd-carving contest that has seen some 'heated' competition in the past, so feel welcome to bring your carved squash, turnip, pumpkin or whatever in your bid to take the prize. Please bring some sort of light edibles to share at the table. Site fee is $5.
Autocrat: Jessica Paine/contact info omitted.
