The Thirty-sixth Year

White Shield Tournament -- Darkwood

March 2, 2002 (AS XXXVI)

San Benito County Fairgrounds,
Hollister, CA

From The Page (February, 2002):

Come one, come all, to Darkwood's eleventh annual White Shield Feast and Tourney! We plan to please your palate with culinary delights provided by co- Feastocrats Branwen Cryccthegn Deorcwuda and Vytas Temaicu, and we will once again be hosting a silent auction to tempt your purses.

For those of you with a martial nature, kick off the tourney season with the reprise of Darkwood's infamous Bar Room Brawl! The idea behind this opening melee is that all items used must be something found in a bar. Past entries have included a coat rack, stool, serving platter (buckler) with removable foam bottle, and more! All weapons used in the Bar Room Brawl must be combat-legal.

Site Info: The site is the Pavilion and adjoining lawn area at the San Benito County Fairgrounds, at Bolado Park in Hollister. It is a limited wet site, with no alcohol allowed outside of the Pavilion building itself.

Site Fees: Site will open at 9 AM, lists sign-ups begin at 10 AM, fighting at 11 AM. The feast will begin at 5 PM. There will be no site fee, nor a fee to enter the tourney lists.
