Fort Ord Travel Camp,
From The Page (August, 2001):
We welcome you to the coronation festival of Crown Prince Hauoc and his lovely lady, the Crown Princess Ginevra! We will give our loving farewells to King Fabian and Queen Susan as they step down from the Western thrones, and we will rejoice at the ascension of our new King and Queen. Many will be the activities to celebrate this momentous occasion. There will be a tourney of Champions for all fighters, a beginner's rapier tourney as well as an advanced rapier's tourney, and possibly an archery range for target shooting. The Page school will be organizing a boffer tourney and there will be a children's bardic hosted by Ivone Punslayer, the Bard of the West. There will also be Arts and Sciences competitions, as well as the Wooden Spoon competition and the Pied d' Argent.
In the evening, in addition to many revels, there will be a themed Bardic, hosted by Ivone Punslayer, Kellyn Firesinger, and Branwen Cryccthegn. These three bards will each be fielding a theme and will ask for contributions which fit those themes. The themes are humor, love and praise pieces, and adventure. All are welcome to the bardic.

"It was a cool, but windy event, not surprising for the site (Fort Ord), but it was a fun event.
"Morning court started on SCA-Time (late), but some of the business was fun -- Dregel Alewolf was knighted; Rose de Le Mans was admitted to the Order of the Pelican, and lots more.
"Coronation was very impressive -- Crown Prince Hauoc and Crown Princess Ginevra were escorted by a landsknecht military unit, with a good drummer, and the men carried HUGE speers/pikes. Her Highness' escort was less military -- ladies in Italian garb.
"After Coronation, a Champion's Tournament was held (note, not a "Queen's Champion's Tournament" ...) which was fun to watch, and the participants had a good time.
"Sunday morning saw some of the usual peerage meetings, followed by a short court, in which the impressive piece of business was Katherine ní Ceallaigh of Skye was asked in court (after being asked privately by Their Majesties) if she would be willing to join the Order of the Pelican, to which she responded with a hearty "Yeah, sure!".
"After that, the usual packing/schmoozing/hanging out occurred. It was a nice, low-key event, and from all I could see, everyone had a good time." -- Hirsch von Henford
