Maniilaq Activity Center,
From The Page (June, 2001):
Springtime is upon us and it is time to celebrate the changing of the seasons in a simple way with food and dancing! Wear your oldest and most worn-out garb. Ratty peasant cloaks & pins will be given to all upon signing in ('til they run out) to keep out the mild chill of the Arctic in May! Site will open at 3pm, come early to help decorate the hall. Evening feast will be a potluck, please bring enough for 4-5 adults. Choose between Appetizers/Fruits, Main Dishes, Side Dishes, Desserts, Bread and Spreads at your pleasure. There will be a contest to make food look & sound unappetizing, i.e. creative naming. Some beverages will be provided but bring your own preferred n/a drinks. Before and after trips to the groaning board there will be dancing, including instruction. Storytelling and bardic activities will be encouraged during and after dancing so bring a poem or song (your own or other) to share!
Site Information: Site will be open from 3pm until 10pm. Location is Maniilaq Activity Center (address omitted), behind the hospital. Site is dry. There is a standard kitchen on site for warming if needed.
