Bort Meadow (Big Trees),
From The Page (September, 2001):
Our Highnesses Parlan and Arianwen would invite all who would come to view their succession tournament. The site is Bort Meadow (Big Trees) in the Anthony Chabot Regional Campground. The event promises to be fun for the whole family.
Saturday, watch our Misty fighters nobly fight it out to determine the heirs to our fair Prince and Princess. Stay Sunday for the Banner Tournament and the 16th Century Salon. See the strength and skill of those who would be the next Mists Banner Bearer. Be amazed by the learned discussion and witty repartee (not to mention the music, dancing, gaming, food and drink!) at the Salon (1550-1600 European dress is encouraged but not necessary). And if you enjoy the more refined things try the Arts Competitions: Needlework, any style or medium; Belts, open; Some like it hot Beverages served heated; Revenge - a dish served cold. Page school will be running the ever popular How To Make A Boffer, followed by instruction from heavy fighters.
Autocrat: Portia de Bruges (contact info omitted).
Site Info: $6 members; $8 non-members; Children under 5 free. Site opens at 3 pm Friday and closes at 5 pm Sunday. On a more serious note: Parking is realty limited so please car pool; Dogs are allowed if on a leash at all times; the gate will be locked by midnight; and watch out for Star Thistle.
