Citrus Heights, CA
From The Page (February, 2002):
All are invited to join us under the oaks at Rusch Park for the Golden Rivers Championship Tournament to decide the next Lord and Lady of Golden Rivers. Lists will open at 10 AM with the tournament starting at 11 AM. During the day, there will be A & S competitions for best display of "Your Heart on Your Sleeve" and best calligraphed "Valentine" as well as dancing and songs. After the tournament, join us for a potluck feast in the hall from 4 PM to 8:30 PM. Those joining in the feast are asked to bring a period offering sufficient to share with 8-10 people; selections should be made based upon one's SCA first name, i.e. A - M main dish and N - Z side dish. There will be a microwave available to heat up dishes and electrical for crockpots. Visit (website address omitted) if you would like ideas on period recipes. The Province will provide dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. As this is a wet site, feel free to enjoy adult beverages if you are of age. The Bard of Golden Rivers competition will be held during supper. This year's competition has three components: a period piece (documentation required), an original piece based upon the theme of "The Champion" and the performer's personal best piece.
SITE FEE: $5.00. Site open from 10 AM to 9 PM.
AUTOCRAT: Catarine Douglas (contact info omitted).
