From The Page (November, 2001):
Come and join us for a day of activities based on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Fight your way to victory in the Pilgrim's Tournament! Identify characters from the Tales within our own midst! Participate in the SCA-venger himt, where we gather necessary provisions for the pilgrimage! Explore the scribal arts and period book binding, with materials available on site! And, of course, fill your bellies with foods available along the various pilgrim ways. Contests: Pilgrim's knapsacks- What would your persona take on a pilgrimage and why? "Documentation", aka humorous explanations of each item; will be rewarded highly! Best Rendition of a Tale: Oral or written, performed or not, give us your best SCA-inspired Tale. "An Abused Squire's Tale," anyone? Or "The Nocturnal Tale of a Sleep Deprived Constable?" Blackwork: Chaucer mentions it, so bring out your best, be it a sampler, handkerchief, or future garb embellishment
Site opens at noon. Finlandia Hall, (address omitted). Site fee is $10, $6 for 6-12, under 5 free.
