Captaincy Tournament -- Winter's Gate

The Barony of Winter's Gate invites all to Glass Park on Fort Wainwright for the Harvest Captaincy, where a tourney will be held Saturday to determine the new Captain of the Winter's Gate Militia. The following day, the new Captain will be able to review the strength and skill of tiie militia during a Pas d' Armes.

There will be a potluck feast on Saturday evening. The Barony will provide a main meat dish. The autocrat encourages period dishes—with documentation—incorporating foods brought back from the New World. Examples include com (maize), potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, hard squashes, turkey, cranbenies and of course chocolate. A prize will be awarded for the documented dish that best satisfies this Autocrat's Whim.

Brewing Contest - Fruits of the Harvest The Brewer's Guild encourages entries of any fruit beer, ale, mead, liqueur, cordial, etc. Camping is available on-site (showers negotiable). Water is questionable. There are several bbq's at the site. Housing is available for out-of-town guests-please contact the autocrat if you either (a) need a place to stay, or (b) can offer someone a place to stay.

Site info: The site fee is $7 for adults 12 and older and free for children under 12. Site opens at 7pm Friday 9/1 with a bardic that evening and closes at 10pm Sunday 9/3.
