Anderson, AK

From The Page (June, 2000):

The site will open on Friday mid-afternoon, so those traveling by car can go directly to the site and set up, Saturday schedule will roughly follow the usual pattern of opening court (10am), tourney, evening court, food and bardic/dancing. all subject to change.

We hope to have dancing, singing and general merrymaking along with demonstrations and classes for newer people to participate in. For those with small children, there will be certain hours that a babysitter will be available for you.

The site is Anderson Park, in Anderson, Alaska. Tliere are showers available on site. In the camp sites, consider putting more than one tent on a space and splitting the fee. Some water is available, but it is unknown if it is potable.

Mundanes will be in the area, and there will be constables on duty around the clock, with one roving at all times. We will be asking officers and guild members to help with pre-organization of needed duties as well as the arts & sciences classes and demonstrations. The chirurgeons need to be aware tliat wasps and bees might be around, and bee sting kits need to be available (and people who know of their allergies will need to be reminded to bring them). Very little shade is available so bring hats, etc., and be aware of possible heat exhaustion.

Competitions: Polish garb, circlets in any mode. Others will be announced.

Proposed site fee: $15 for adults, with fees for families and children to be negotiated with the autocrat. Additional cost will be camping fee of $15 for Friday-Sunday. Meals include Friday soup and sandwich and Saturday brunch and feast.

Anyone interested in traveling to Oertha from outside the Principality should contact the autocrat for travel information, or any of the Oerthan officers listed in the Page.
