The Thirty-fifth Year

Mists Games -- Principality of the Mists

July 22, 2000 (AS XXXV)

Santa Theresa Hills Presbyterian Church,
San Jose, CA

From The Page (May, 2000):

Unto the Populace of the West and, more specifically, the Mists; I wish to again ask for help from you all. You may help even if you are not of the Mists. As of this time, I do not have a secured site — so if you have any ideas please let me know. I am working on this at this time so now is time to suggest locations.

I am also in need of prizes for contests that will be held throughout the day. If you have something you can donate, please let me know and I will arrange on how to get it to hold until the event.

I also wish to hear from you all about what game(s) you wish to have there or that you can bring. Some wonderful suggestions have been made so far, some that I do not have the equipment for—so if you have a game that you can bring or lend please let me know. Additional ideas are welcome too. Here are some possibilities so far, to give you a heads up for practice:

Fighting: Blind Man Melee, Cats Cradle melee. Team sword & shield. Gauntlet (use 3 weapon styles against 3 different opponents, ask me). Some that involve a fighter: Strip the fighter. Shield toss (I need an old heavy shield please). Tug of War.

For non-fighters: Scavenger hunt, chess, mancala. Hunker Hauser, tripoly, Jeau de ball. Live steel bottle cutting, Dragon coloring; Silver Tongue Devil, Bear pit Wrestling. These are just ideas for a day of fun. You can make the difference! If you have any others or wish to help with any or all of these, please let me know, and thank you!
