Fort Ord, CA
From The Page (May, 2000):
Come one! Come all! To the canton of Montaigne d u Roi i n the barony of Darkwood to frolic in the grass with weapons and comrades at our "Clan War." This day will be filled with fighting in clan packs—the more warriors, the more clans, the better. The battlefield is vast, with lots of open space and wooded hills In which to play.
Those of you who have attended the "Clan War" in the past will find that we are borrowing the name only and intend to create something completely different, but entirely enjoyable. The potential site is the beautiful Travel Camp at the former Fort Ord. Look for our Page copy next month when we will have more details about how the games will be run, other activities for non-combatants, and a lunch possibly provided by the canton. Come help us create an historic event.!
Autocrat: Aleyn MacBryce (contact info omitted).
The autocrats would appreciate a call from those able to bring pavilions and/or sunshades—the more the merrier.
