Annual Newcomers' Event -- Eskalya

June 24-25, 2000 (AS XXXV)

Come One, Come All! (And bring a friend!) The Annual Newcomers' Event will be held June 24 and 25 on the front lawn at Centennial Park. The site will be open Friday, June 23, for set-up starting at 3 pm. We hope to see you all there, and remember to BYON (Bring your own newcomer!) The official schedule is:

Tournament of tine Midnight Sun: Armor inspection at noon, with Heavy Tourney directly following. The Rapier Tournament will be held upon completion of heavy fights.

A&S competition turn-in; By 3 pm (See below for details);

Afternoon and evening activities include: Dancing, games, children's activities and assorted other merriments.

Feast: 6 pm, please bring a dish to share, according to first letter of mundane last name; A-H; Breads and spreads; I-R; Side dish of any kind; S-Z; Desserts.

Auction: An auction to benefit the future St. Nicholas Feast will be held during feast.

A&S Competitions: Cordials and Liqueurs: Bring your best to help while away the long summer night! Categories will be dependent on entries, so all types are welcome. Eskalyan Favor: One of tine most wonderful things about this barony is the support we give to our fellow Eskalyans in their various endeavors. Our A&S contest celebrates this spirit of camaraderie and friendship. We invite all to fashion a favor based on something uniquely Eskalyan, Inspiration could come from our baronial device, the natural beauty that surrounds us, or from your own personal feelings about our beloved barony. The winning favor will be given to the Champions of the Midnight Sun, both heavy and rapier, as a symbol of the inspiration we as a barony provide to our own.

Site fee: $5 for adults; free for those 12 and under.
