From The Page (August, 2000):
War! Unghh! What is it good for? Having lots of fun, actually! Come test and strengthen your skill as a light fighter at the Shire of Crosston's annual Lights War. The field of battie will take place at Fort Ord's Travel Camp (same site as June Crown).
Gate will open at 9am, fighting starts at 10am and will run until 5pm. A light lunch will be provided. Scenarios will include field battle, woods battle, Moose Melee and William Tell. Members of the Gallery will be urged to participate in the Agincourt Scenario where, basically, a line of unarmed (but armored) fighters walks into a line of archers, There will be a thrown weapons range on site and an SCA-style target archery range. So if you've never had an axe to grind... er ... throw or shot an SCA-style bolt, now's your chance,
All SCA light weapons, including siege engines, are welcome, boffer weapons, however, will not be allowed. Lights authorization will be waived for this one day; since there will be no heavy fighters on the field.
As an added bonus, camping will be available on site! Please note that the Barony of Darkwood will be hosting an A&S on the same site the day before this event (Sat Sept 9). Come and make a weekend of learning and launching with Darkwood and Crosston!
