The Thirty-fifth Year

Birthday Pas and Feast: Virtue and Folly! -- Crosston

April 14, 2001 (AS XXXV)

Higuera Adobe Park,
Milpitas, CA

From The Page (April, 2001):

Siobhan Medhbh and her friends invite you to the her Virtue and Folly tournament and party on April 14. We will be celebrating Siobhan's Official Birthday (as opposed to her birthdate in the Winter Solstice, when no-one wants to crawl out of their manses and come play). In the spirit of noble hospitality, this event will be free. (A gift from Siobhan to all) In the spirit of Chivalry and Honor, the tournament will be a Pas d'Armes. Along with a fighting tournament Passage, there will be a Passage of Dance, leading to dance and music.

From the many events, contests, passages and diversions shall be chosen those who embody best some of Dame Siobhan's favorite Virtues, to sit at high table at the feast and inspire all. Also chosen will be those who best embody her favorite Vices, to sit at the low table and have a very good time. (Some may sit at both tables.)

Musicians! Music is definitely a Virtue, and shall be rewarded!

We will have a feast in the evening for 50 souls. Reservations are absolutely required in advance. Please make reservations with the autocrat. Off board space will be available. In the day, we encourage you to picnic-it's a Virtue.

Site Info: Higuera Adobe Park in Milpitas: An historic adobe house sits on this 5.5-acre park site with 8 barbecue pits, 16 tables, play equipment, and parking for 20. Plenty of shade trees are a plus. Site opens at 9am, fighting starts at 11am, dinner will be at 6pm and the hall closes at 11pm. There is no fee, but please do stop at the gate to sign the usual waivers.
