The Thirty-fourth Year

Sheep Raid -- St. Brendan

April 7-9, 2000 (AS XXXIV)

Rowdy Creek Campground,
Crescent City, CA

From The Page (April, 2000):

It's spring, Da'Vikings have thawed and are trying to steal our sheep! We've heard they will be storming our castle and terrorizing our peasant. Come one, come all and help us defend our defenseless sheep.

An Arts and Science tournament is also going to be held, entries are due by 3 pm on the eighth. They are to be judged by the new Baron and Baroness of Allyshia. The categories are: siege weaponry, metal working, textiles, food (side dish), herbalism (healing), Illumination (awards scrolls), and wood working.

Site opens at noon on the seventh and closes at 2 on the ninth.

The event will be at the Rowdy Creek site, which includes flat ground for comfortable camping, shady trees to relax under and a cool creek to swim in after a long day of fun-loving war. (Parents, please watch children as there will be no lifeguard available.) There is a working well on site, but bringing drinking water is advised. (A Ray's Food Place is adjacent to the tumoff for supplies.) West Kingdom fire laws will be in effect.

Parking will be tight, so please carpool if possible.

Site fee: $5 (part of which will go to building a new castle!) Please make checks payable to: The College of St. Brendens, SCA.

Autocrat: Phauxania Ryes (contact info omitted).

Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
