The Thirty-fourth Year

Fool's Tourney -- Rivenoak

April 1, 2000 (AS XXXIV)

Butte College Career Training Center,
Chico, CA

From The Page (March, 2000):

Their Excellencies Bjorn and Hilarie, Baron and Baroness of Rivenoak, invite you to spend a fun-filled day in Rivenoak. You can expect to see many foolish things happening on this day. The festivities will begin with an opening court to choose a King and Queen of Misrule, who will preside over the day's event. There will be two prize tourneys. The first one is for fighters who have never won a tourney before. The second will be a "Bear Pit" using foolish weapons - whatever items may have been found in a medieval household. (Pitchfork, Fire Poker, Haunch of Mutton, etc.) Contact the autocrat or Rivenoak's Fighter Marshal, Cybi d'Elmhurst, for specific details on weapons.

There will be a "Whimsical Tea" held during the fighting tourneys in honor of the Queen of Misrule, so if you wish to spend some time "indoors" come on in and join in the fun. After fighting, we will be dancing and playing games in the hall until feast.

Please bring food to share according to your mundane last name for the Potluck Feast. Desserts Breads/Spreads: N-S; Main Dishes: T-Z; Side Dishes: A-F

Kitchen facilities are available on-site for your use. All potluck items will be entered into Francis' Food Frenzy Contest with a prize for each category of foods listed above. Since this is a dry site, there will be a contest for non-alcoholic beverages to be judged at the "Whimsical Tea."

Site fee: A $3.00 donation is suggested

Location: Butte College Career Training Center, (address omitted), Chico, CA 95928

Autocrat: Francis Bull of Kent (contact info omitted).
