From The Page (February, 2000):
RavenShore is going to WAR with Allyshia! Please come join us for the fun!
When: The weekend of Feb. 25-27, 2000. The site will open at 3 pm Friday, Feb. 25 and close at 5 pm Sunday, Feb. 27. The Shire of RavenShore is sponsoring this event.
Where: The location is WoodLyn Manor, which lies between Willits and Laytonville on Hwy 101 in Mendocino County. See a map at (website address omitted). The battlefields are meadows situated mostly on rolling hills and also some woods.
How: We will be camping on the site, but will have access to indoor showers nearby in Baron Fredrick and Mistress Lyndia of WoodLyn's beautiful home. A bed indoors can be arranged for anyone with medical or other compelling needs. (Please contact the autocrat as far in advance as possible.) Noncombatants and cleaned up fighters might even talk the WoodLyn's into browsing the manor's 3,400 volume medieval reference library! Visit (web address omitted) for details on the library.
Why: Those fellows to the north, the Allyshians, bragged to a visiting RavenShorian that just three Allyshians could beat all of us, that is every single member of The Mighty Army of RavenShore! Can you imagine? Well, the martial arm of RavenShore, MARS, shall be only too happy to provide our beloved northern cousins with a bit of a reality check. (That's like a hip check, but it hurts more.)
Who: If you are reading this and you are not one of those silly Allyshians, we would love you to join MARS for all the many battles that will follow the massacre of the Allyshians. We have to fight that one battle alone but it will be very fast, leaving most of the day for you to play too. Bribes and mercenary fees are a definite possibility for those who would like to fight alongside MARS. Make a bid. Also, the autocrat would love to hear from any of you with ideas for fun battle scenarios.
Site fee: $4.00 per person
Autocrat: Weland of Yulewood (contact info omitted)
