By whatever means of travel your tribe favors, plan to attend the Gathering of the Northern Nomads during the warm summer month of July in Oertha. Travelers from Scandinavia, Russia and Mongolia are invited to bring their urts, tents, pavilions and other appropriate shelter and make camp with Their Highnesses, Georg and Katarzina, on a private wilderness property owned by your autocrats. Their Highnesses look forward to greeting all vho come and meeting Their Successors to the Coronets of Oertha. A hearty soup will be on the fire to greet weary travelers who wish to set up Friday night A breakfast of bread, gruel, and cook-your-own eggs, ham, and griddlecakes will start the day. The midday meal consists of deep-dish meat/root vegetable pies, breads and cheeses, and a robust feast with featured dishes from the three nomadic regions will satisfy the populace on Saturday. Stmday will feature sweet breads and feast remains for morning and mid-day meals. All is covered in your site fee.

Feast contest Cooked on site in the camp kitchen! Plan on creating a side dish (to serve 20- 30 people) in Scandinavian, Russian or Mongolian stjie to match the theme. Six beautiful hand-carved prizes will be awarded to the cooks of the best side-dishes chosen by the populace. Bring your own pots, utensils, and spices, and use the provided root vegetables, pasta, rice, etc. that will be available (yes, potatoes are late, but still period). Space will be provided in (he kitchen with one range/oven, multiple Coleman stoves and grills. Make plenty as the populace will judge your dish during the feast.

**Special warning: We are literally on the edge of the wilderness. Moose, bear, fox, and wolves are seen in this area every summer. Watch your children! No food at tent sites. Pets will have to be quartered in a special area and MUST be kept leashed at all times. Fire danger is high - no open flames. Site fees: $20 for adults; $9 for children (6-12 yrs, under 6 free)
