The Thirty-fourth Year

Chicken Wars IV: The Silk Road -- Eskalya

July 30-August 2, 1999 (AS XXXIV)

Wasilla, AK

From The Page (June, 1999):

Come North to the Barony of Eskalya, and farther North yet, where the autocrat's trade caravan has found a stop on their journey over the Silk Road. War maneuvers will be fought; Rob the Caravan (a booty battle), Will that warrior ever die? (a resurrection battle), and others yet to be determined. For those whose talents are not necessarily of the fighting bent (or even if they are), a Story of the Silk Road contest is sponsored by the autocrat. Children's activities will include a "Smuggle the Silk Worm" relay race. Soup on Friday night, all three meals on Saturday, and the first two meals of Sunday to be provided. Advance moneys are nice, but not as necessary as advance notice of attendance is (send to the email address above). Advance notice of food allergies or other special access requirements is appreciated. All standard "we need help" volunteer positions are available. Further information will be available as soon as we think it up.

Site opens July 30 at 7 p.m. and closes August 2 at 6 p.m. Site; (address omitted), Wasilla, Alaska

Site fee: $12 for adults; $7 for children 5-12; under 5 free; family rate available.

Autocrat: Anne of Bradford (contact info omitted).

Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
