From The Page (June, 1999):
Benvenuto Amici! The Shire of Caldarium invites one and all to embark upon a Quest set in Medieval Italy. Questers will journey through the realms of Dante, performing feats of daring and bravery, wisdom and knowledge, skill and wit. Cross the River Styx! Retrieve the Holey Graile! Slay the Medusa! Besiege the Casde and Rescue the Princess! Game with Death! Etc., etc., etc.! A Grand Palio (horse race/boffer melee) will be held, and the festivities will conclude with a Grand Celebratory Poduck Dessert Banquet. No fighting required. Dress for outdoors and uneven terrain. The site includes shady picnic tables in a secluded woodsy canyon, and nearby trails border open meadows and natural wetlands. A splendid barbecue pit is provided and the porta-privies are large and clean. We'll provide the fire; you bring your own food, beverages, and your special mama-mia dessert to share for the festa. There is no drinking water. Dogs are not permitted. Beware of poison oak if you venture off the hiking trail.
Site opens at 10:00 a.m. Quest signups close at 2:00 p.m. Site must be clean and vacated by sunset.
Site fee: A donation to the Great Potluck Dessert Feast following the Grand Palio.
Autocrat: Diane de Winchester (contact info omitted).
