From The Page (June, 1998):

The Desert Garden invites you to join us for the 100th Coronation in the Mighty Kingdom of the West. We have chosen a beautiful site in Lamoille, NV. This site is at the base of the Ruby Mountains, on ranch land. You will be overlooked by the majestic Ruby Mountains of northern Nevada's Humboldt National Forest. Come join this auspicious occasion. There will be Arts, Brewing, Sciences, Wooden Spoon, Pied D'Argent. We will have fighting, feasting, contests, games, archery and tournaments. Blacksmiths, bring your wares, we will even have a conte,st for you. Artemesia will host a large rapier demo. Games? How about tug-o-war, belly wrestling, spear & axe throwing, and so much more. Why, we are even going to have a one-of-a-kind prize tournament. Artemesia and the West will sponsor a feast for everyone wishing to attend. We'll all gather together and watch the entertainment. We will also offer breakfast both Sat. and Sun., for a nominal fee. Our site opens 12 noon, Monday 24th for those early birds, who want to relax or volunteer. There are lakes, creeks, and canyons to explore. The site closes Monday 31st at 3pm. Pets must be leashed at all times.

Site donation: TBA

Autocrat: Lord Duffer Cole the Miner (contact info omitted)

From The Page (August, 1998):
Due to insurmountable problems with the site, Purgatorio Coronation had to be moved from Elko NV. It is back to being a weekend event, not a five day event.

With a great deal of work by many people, a new site for Coronation has been secured. It is on private land in the fog belt, so while days may be quite warm, evenings and nights should be cool and comfortable. (Bring your cloaks!) There will be some water available on site, but it is well water so you will want to bring a supply of drinking water. Pets must be under the control of their owners. There is a county leash law for dogs. Birds of prey are welcome. This is an open field with no trees, so be sure to bring shade pavilions.

There will be a Queen's Champion List. Check the list in the front of the Page for A&S competitions. Pandybat - We will be running the Pandybat competition at Purgatorio. A Pandybat is a weapon that is nominally legal on the field but which is more likely to kill/cause the death of the wielder than his/ her/their opponents! Individual and team entries allowed. Schtick is GOOD!!!. Silly names are good. For questions please contact the previous winners -The Silver Desert PandyPeer- at (contact info omitted) Siobhan, Comior, Khaalid, and Rashid.

There will be a feast Saturday evening to celebrate the 100th Coronation in the West. The populace is invited to bring their (cooked) meat, feastware, and tables to the eric. Side dishes and deserts will be provided. A $2 donation per person is requested - there will be a donation box at the head of the line.

The site will open on Friday, August 28, at 12 noon and close Sunday at 5PM. The site fee will not be over $7 (over age 6) - the exact fee will be set as soon as the cost of sanitary services has been determined.

The autocrat is Rosewitha Wolfsdottir (contact info omitted).
