From The Page (May, 1998):
Have you ever wanted to just hit someone with a chair, brealc a table over their head, or pummel them with a leg of lamb? If the answer is yes, then come to the Peacock Tavern Tourney, where you can live out all of your wildest bar fighting fantasies. The list of the day's contest will include a timed armoring contest, an arm-wrestling contest, a tavern song contest, and of course a variety of tavern brawl scenarios. All fighters are encouraged to bring a weapon or two that you might find in a bar, such as a leg of lamb, a large tankard, or a stout bench (please contact the autocrat for weapon construction specifications). The day will also include a plowman's lunch, consisting of sausage, bread, cheese, and lemonade. Parking is limited, so please carpool.
Site opens at 9:00am and closes at 6;00pm. Armor inspection begins at 9:30am, and fighting starts at 10:00am.
Site fee: a small bag of chocolate coins, or suitable tourney prize.
Autocrat: Morgan the Falconer (contact info omitted).
