The Thirty-third Year

Moose and Squirrel -- Vair Couvert

June 13, 1998 (AS XXXIII)

Sunnyvale Baylands Park,
Sunnyvale, CA

From The Page (June, 1998):

Site opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at sunset. Parking fee of $3 (carpool please!) and a requested site donation of $3 (no checks, please). We are in the Pickleweed site. Armour inspection starts at 9:00 a.m. Fighting starts at 10:00 a.m., with many amusing scenarios run by Sir John Theophilus. The park has given permission for thrown weapons (javelins); arrows TBD at the discretion of the Head Ranger (we're working on it!).

There will be silly contests for non-fighters, and a prize for best inspired costume (Moose, Squirrel, etc.). Sir John has threatened a Borgia poisoning plot at the feast; be warned! Think "Moose and Squirrel MUST die!" in a heavy Russian accent...

Potluck feast to start at 5:00 p.m. Please bring amounts to feed 8-10 persons according to your mundane last name: a-d, please bring breads and spreads; e-m, please bring meat or cheese dishes; n-r, please bring vegetables or fruit; s-z, please bring the all-important deserts! Barbeque pits available.
