From The Page (September, 1998):
It has been a good and bountiful year for the Canton of Inbhir na Da Abhann and the Barony of Eskalya. The Canton successfully survived the siege it was under, and the Barony successfully held the lands of Eastern Eskalya. To celebrate the boon of the harvest, the Baron and Baroness of Eskalya invite the populace to the annual feast hosted by their canton. The menu will be a selection of hearty fare featuring the harvests of the Canton and Barony.
A Crested Helm Tourney will be sponsored by the canton during the afternoon of the feast. This tourney is one that can display the skills of both the fighter and the artisan. In the Crested Helm Tourney, papier mache crests created by the fighter will be duct taped to the top of the helm. There will be a contest for the Most Splendiferous Crest, the Most Period-Looking Crest, and the Judges' Favorite Crest. In this tourney, the fighter will be penalized for killing the opponent. The idea is to "kill" the crest on your opponent's helm. Points will be given for "maiming" the crest, "crushing" the crest, and "obliterating" the crest. Further details about the tourney will be published in the An Claid Moohr and the Eskalyan Chronicle.
