Lion's Camper Park,
From The Page (June, 1998):
All the Fighting! All the Adventure! Twice the Daylight!
The Barony of Eskalya and the Principality of Oertha (that's Alaska) have annexed Northern Avacal and An Tir (that's Canada)! Through a contest of noble combat on the field of battle, the final ownership of the annexed lands will be determined.
Grab your armor, sharpen your sword, and pull out your colors. Join us where it is summer and the sun barely sets before coming back up for another bright day of War in the North (honest, close to 20 hours of daylight). Gather your war bands as An Tir and Avacal fighters attempt to deny victory to the West Kingdom's northernmost principality. Combat will include field, wood, and siege scenarios, as well as a Heroes/Champions Tourney. Fun for noncombatants, too, including a siege-cooking contest, sheep stealing (its Oertha, you know!), best field display, children's activities, the Big Person Contest and the Known World-famous Oerthan Bardic. Oertha is renowned for its hospitality, and the warm, bright sununer is one of the best times to visit. The War will be in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska, at Lion's Camper Park, located on Boniface Parkway between 6th Avenue and DeBarr Road. The site will be open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and close at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a full breakfast and lunch provided both Saturday and Sunday. Dinner on Saturday will be a supplemented potluck by the foUowijig divisions of mundane last name: A-F = Desserts, G-L = Side Dishes, M-R = Meat or Main Dishes, S-Z = Breads and Spreads.
This is a camping event, and crash space is available before and after the event (let the autocrat know if you need assistance). Site fees are a low $12.00 per adult, $6.00 for children under 12, $30.00 traditional-family maximum (all funds US). For more event information, registration, travel tips, and helpful hints on waging war in the North, please contact the autocrat.
