White Shield High Feast and Tournament -- Darkwood

Ahoy mateys! Get out yer best high-court garb and get ready to show off yer savoir-faire at the Barony of Darkwood's annual White Shield High Feast and Tournament.

Site opens at 8:30 a.m. Armor inspection will start at 9:00 a.m.; the tournament will begin at 10:00 a.m. SHARP! The winner of the tournament will achieve the tide of White Shield Champion; the Darkwoodian who does best in the tournament will be the Champion of Darkwood for the ensuing year.

The feast will begin at 5:00 p.m. This year's feast theme is "Seafaring Through The Ages," and we're going on a journey to learn about the important role that the seafarer-whether sador, pirate, or privateer-played in all eras of the SCA time period, from Egyptian/Roman to Viking to Elizabethan. The feast menu will feature dishes from each of these eras.

Additional entertainment during the daytime will include the annual Silent Auction. Wonderful items will be made available for you to bid on! Also, this year's competitions will be Leather Belts/Scabbards and Best Representation of Treasure (any medium). Site closes at 11:00 p.m.

Tickets for the high feast are on sale as of Twelfth Night. Please keep in mind that this event ALWAYS sells out, so please contact the autocrat for your ticket as soon as possible!

Fees: List fee is $3. Feast tickets are $12 per adult; $6 per child (12 and under).
